Yard Sales From May...

for goodness sakes...
I'm trying to get caught up... slowly...

Isn't he cute, another addition to my 'bee' collection and the cookie mold with the bee hive was a find...

I didn't get this plate at a yard sale, Mom picked it up for me at the Village.

Now, I knew this clock didn't work when I bought it, but what a great 'statement piece' for the shelves in the kitchen.

I've been wanting a real dial phone like this from Pottery Barn, but this one for a dollar will do for now, it's a 'direct line to the Queen'!

This little flicker candlelite is perfect right here.

This piece is one of a set of four depicting the seasons. They're probably from the '70's but the silhouette shape is so cool. I put it in the kitchen with the intention of changing it up every few months.

I couldn't grab this fast enough, a cupcake holder/stand thingy. And it has 3 other interchangeable toppers, a pumpkin, a gift and a star. $5 bucks!

I almost passed these lamps up, but BFF Cindy talked me into them, a pair of silver candlestick lamps that fit perfectly on the hutch in the dining room. Brand new, $40/pr.

This tiny little orchid came home with me too.

Think I got these the week before, 8 placemats, 4 yellow, 4 green. Can never have too many placemats...well, maybe you can, I have 2 drawers full!

That's it for now, see ya.

Guess where I was...

Yup, we're still yard saleing... at the end of September for crying out loud! Can't believe the stuff I'm still getting out there. Check it out...

A beautiful pair of lamps for $5 each. And they do work.

This glass thing is huge and heavy. Can't believe I got it in the car, got it home, washed and dried it and didn't break it! It was filled with sand, stones and this brand new candle. I've got so many ideas for this. Wouldn't it be great as a fish bowl though?

Another crocheted dress pot holder, this one will actually match the new kitchen colours! And a little teacup & saucer. It's Wedgewood.

When you get too many, just start stack'em.
I picked up this vintage (1972?) nurse's book for Cailynn. She's in her final year at 'Nurse School'. She should really read up on this when dealing with our family! (just joking!)
A shop in Dover had a closing out sale and I got this cool drying rack for the laundry room. Look how much it holds and I haven't even tried it with wet clothes yet!
The store was actually a costume store. They had a few vintage hats that I thought were kind of nice with the flowers on them.
Love this one, looks like a bridesmaid hat.
'Mama, I don't like this modeling thing, I look like a wimp!'
'Here, I'll just hold it up'
This picture frame was .25 cents! Looks great on the bathroom shelf with Meggie's pic in it.
This basket is perfect for cloth napkins.
Isn't this great? Love Halloween stuff.
This goes without saying in my house.
I think this is kind of old. Great door stopper.
'Mama, do you see what he's doing?'
'Spike, it's ok, he's not real'
'But Mama, he's lifting his leg'
'He's not really real Spike'
'Yeah, but last time I did that...'
'Spikie, get a grip'

A box of bling. I love the colour of those pearls. This little jam jar was a steal. Got this jar and the nurse book for .25 cents! And it's glass, even the spoon is glass! I bought these sugar cubes a few years ago for show. Don't they look great in this?
These glasses were still sealed in the original box, $5!

Picked up a few new hankies, see the one with the K on it?

Didn't get this yard saleing, but I did pick it up this week at a fabric store! Couldn't believe it when I realized it was plastic. It looks great on the counter filled with goodies.

Town-Wide Yard Sales are the BEST

Isn't it nice when you get flowers for no reason? Ms. Dori stopped in with sunflowers she grew this year. Love the colours of these, thanx Ms. Dori!

Now, on to other business. This weekend was Burford's Town-Wide Yard Sales. Usually it's cold and wet weather, this year just a bit humid which was bearable. My BFF Cindy and I had luck right from the get-go on Saturday morning. Love when that happens...

These little frames were free because we bought a bunch of other stuff at this sale. They're only about 1.5" high and cute!

You may not know this, but I am getting a NEW KITCHEN!! And it's going to be BLACK & IVORY!!! So, I'm starting to gather accessories for it. (Actually, we haven't even settled on a plan yet, but...)This will be perfect sitting on the island of the NEW KITCHEN (the fantasy island, hehe).
Spotted this quilt at a sale in Paris while doing other errands. Not old, but the colours will be great for the family room.Spike already loves it!
White pumpkins, what more can I say? Perfect for decorating, they're ceramic.

And this container is great for fall decor too. It's huge.

The guy selling this must have thought he'd have to use his best selling tactics on me. He just went on and on about what great condition this tub was in. Uh, yeah, I can see! Duh! Little did he know I planned to buy it 3 yard sales away!

These were cute, a little cheese set for Christmas entertaining. They were still in the original box.

When I saw this I thought it looked like a bee hive, but when I got it home, it's more like a bird cage. Don't worry, I'll fit it in somewhere.

See, he's already taken up residence here!I love chenille. Almost passed this bedspread up but the lady came down in price, so I took it.

I tossed it onto the couch in my sitting room, it looks soo comfy, right Spike?
Oh, I also picked up a bag of 5 pillows. These two heart ones were in it and the pillow behind the teddy below. The other two were candlewick embroidery, a little too country for me, so they've been stashed away for now.

This little guy came from my SIL's yard sale. She'll be mad when she sees I've girly-ed him up a bit with new buttons and lace. He matches the bunny a got a few weeks ago.
This little guy came from Sue's too.Cutie eh? that's it for this weekend.
