Liked to laugh,
Never had a license but knew how to drive,
Was Pa’s second set of hands,
Loved to play cards,
Loved her family.
Gramma
Knew the bus drivers names,
Loved to pick berries,
Always said yes,
Made your favorite meals,
Was proud of her kids.
Gramma
Made real French fries,
Had a great garden but never weeded,
Had a ‘telephone room’,
Lived on the same road by the same river
For 70 years,
Cherished her grandchildren.
Gramma
Let you sleep in and fed you whenever you woke up,
Took in strays,
Nursed you back to health with iodine or Vicks,
Liked cardigans and slacks,
Treasured her great-grandchildren.
Gramma
Thought Rodney could do no wrong!
Always got our names mixed up,
Jean, Betty, Kathy…
Liked to have a beer on a hot day like today,
Taught me to knit,
Didn’t think she was old enough to have
Great-great-grandchildren!
Gramma
Always tucked you in,
Made us mind,
Wasn’t afraid to put the worm on
Or take the fish off,
Would always go for a walk,
Loved her friends and had so many of them.
Gramma
Was encouraging,
Was fussy about her hair,
Had nice nails,
Wasn’t afraid to get dirty,
Adored her animals.
Gramma
Made us picnics to get us out of her hair,
Had a screen door that slammed,
Loved to fish,
Was quiet.
Gramma didn’t have a lot but gave all of herself to us…
Gramma lived a long and happy life.
Gramma passed away July 16th, 2008. She was 91 years old.
We will all miss her...
We will all miss her...
